This page explains what information michaelnewton.org may process, why it is used and how you can change your analytics choice.

Controller and contact

The data controller is the operator of michaelnewton.org. For privacy requests, use the contact form and identify the request as concerning this website or your data.

Essential website data

The site may store your language choice and analytics preference in your browser. These items are not used for advertising. The server also processes technical data needed to deliver and secure the website, including IP address, timestamp, requested URL and browser type.

Consent-based analytics

First-party analytics and Google Analytics load only after you choose “Accept analytics”. They may record a session identifier, visited pages, referrer, clicks, scroll depth, active time, screen size, language, time zone and approximate location.

First-party event records do not contain the full IP address; they use a cryptographic hash. To determine approximate location, the IP address may be sent over an encrypted connection to ipwho.is. Google Analytics processes data according to Google's service settings.

Consent is the legal basis for analytics processing. Use the “Privacy” button at the bottom-right of any regular page to change your decision. If you decline, neither first-party analytics nor Google Analytics is loaded.

Contact forms

When you submit a form, we process the name, email address, optional telephone number, subject, message and technical anti-abuse data you provide. Directory submissions also include the professional details and declarations entered in the form.

The information is used to answer and manage the request and protect the service from spam. The basis is taking steps at your request, the legitimate interest in service security, and consent where the form specifically requests it.

Recipients and retention

Information may be processed by the Hostinger hosting provider, the email provider, Google after analytics consent, and ipwho.is for approximate geolocation. First-party analytics events are automatically removed after about 370 days, and stored contact submissions after 365 days. Technical backups and external services may apply separate, limited retention periods.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Where GDPR applies, you may also complain to the competent data protection authority.
